Darla Jean Williams Sebastian, 66, of Rockwall passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018. She was born July 22, 1951, in Dallas to Loyd Wayne Williams and Lillie "Jo" Hennig Williams. She was the second of three children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandmothers, Vera Agatha “Granny G” Grisham and Ida Mae Calhoun Williams Miler "Grandma Miller". Darla grew up in Garland with her siblings, Shari Ann McMahon and Ronald Wayne Williams. She graduated from Garland High School in 1969. She married Benny Ryan Sebastian in 1970. In 1974 their only child, Amy Nicole Sebastian, was born on Darla’s birthday. Darla said her daughter was the best birthday gift ever. She retired from the Dallas Fire Department as a firefighter and paramedic in October 2003 after 13 years of service, which she dearly loved. She was extremely creative and enjoyed painting and decorating homes. She charmed every nurse, doctor and person she met with her million-dollar smile. She lived life to the fullest until the very end.
She is survived by her daughter; two siblings; two nieces, Jennifer Jennings and Candice Yinger; one nephew, Matthew McMahon; several great-nieces and nephews; her best friend, Linda Nelson; and many more special family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 21, at 2:00 PM in Williams Memorial Chapel. A reception will follow at Williams Funeral Directors.
