William "Bill" Varner was born October 18, 1950 and went home to be with the Lord on June 18, 2009. He loved to fish, hunt, and most of all his grandkids. He was loved by so many for his sense of humor and his love for life. Bill worked as a butcher for Winn Dixie and Tom Thumb. Bill will be missed by his dog Roxy who loved to watch TV with him. He was preceded in death by mother Pannie Cripps, father Norma Varner, stepmother Ella Varner and brother Craig Cripps. He is survived by his wife Linda, dad I.B. Cripps and wife Jan, mother in law Donna Richards, son Shane Varner and wife Chandra, daughter Shonda Powell and husband Jeff, stepson Kevin Cartwright and wife Shellie, stepdaughter Kim Richards and husband Brad. Nine grandchildren Jacob, Garrett, Joshua, Taylor, Karly, Hayden, Katelyn, Nathan and Travis, sister Raenell Blackwell, brother Jeff Varner, brother in law's Denver Richards and wife Brenda, Al Richards and wife Joann, sister in law Carol Mills and husband Fred and a number of other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, June 22, 2009 at Williams. A funeral service will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Firewheel Church of Garland, 1600 W. Campbell Road, 75044. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. Donations in His honor can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
