I may not have all the details correct, but I remember David was murdered by two men who approached him while he was fishing. They also murdered a clerk at a store on Lavon Dr. I think all this took place in '71 or '72. In the end, one of the murderers was killed in a shootout (he may have committed suicide). The second murderer was captured. David was a good guy.
David Bobo died at the hands of two Oklahoma convicts, Claude Dennis and Michael Lancaster.
The esacped convicts murdered eight individuals, including our classmate, David, near Lake Caddo and other locations around the Southwest. Three Texas Troopers were also killed. All the murders were apparently random and unplanned.
The two convicts were killed in a shoot out, later.
God bless our friend David and his family. This tragedy happened in April 1978.
David was a great person and catcher in baseball as he and I had some great games together! He always had a smile on his face when he came to the mound to tell me what the new signals were going to be. I could not believe it when I heard of his untimely death. God Bless you David.
