Tommy and I were very good friends who went to junior high and, for one year, at Garland High School together. We reconnected as friends several years ago and it was like all those years we had not talked or seen each other just suddenly disappeared. He and I had such good times together once we got to "know each other" again. We carried on a tradition of going to watch small-school state championship games for several years in a row. Tommy was such a fine husband, father, and grandfather. I'll never forget all the times I went with Tommy, his mother, and his little brother to Owls football games in junior high or all the summer mornings he, Bill Howald, and I would ride on our bikes to the Pony League field to play homerun derby. He was a good friend and I miss him.
