Jackie Howard Garrison was born in Dallas, Texas on April 2, 1950 and passed from this life on March 10, 2022.  He grew up in Liberty Grove/Rowlett and made his home in Garland, Texas.  He was a 1969 graduate of Garland High School.

Jackie retired from GTE and eventually started his own telecommunications company, which he owned and operated for 30 years. 

Jackie was a true free spirit that lived by his own rules. He was brutally honest and sincere.

He never met a stranger and was a true and loyal friend.

Jackie was hysterically funny, known for his jokes and one-liners.

He loved sports, dove hunting, horse racing, dominos, cards, playing pool, singing and dancing.

He especially loved softball and cherished the friendships made while coaching and watching his daughter play.

Jackie had a tender heart and loved his family and friends.  He lived and loved passionately.  He did not believe in regrets.

He was a Christian, believed in God and his Son, Jesus Christ, forgiveness, and everlasting life. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jackie Burdett Garrison and Billie Earl (Wooten), and brother, Marty.  He is survived by his wife of 37 years Maria and daughter Tomi; daughter Yolanda Cook and husband Kevin, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sisters Dora Garrison and Carolyn Ely and husband Wes; sisters-in-law Bernadette Breen, Linda Manning and husband Rick, Sharon Newton and husband John, and Kathleen Austin; brother-in-law, Vincent Bonatti; as well as a numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

Visitation, Friday March 25, 2022 6-8 pm

Memorial Service – Saturday March 26, 2022 10:30 am
